A storm is expected in the northern part of Iceland late tonight and tomorrow

Warning from the Icelandic Meteorological Office 

A north strong gale or storm is expected in the northern part of Iceland late tonight and tomorrow with heavy snow and blowing snow. Strong wind gusts are also expected along the south coast, by Myrdalsjokull glacier and Vatnajokull glacier.

Further on the weather outlook:

Northerly winds, 10-18 m/s with snowshowers in the northern part of Iceland but increasing wind and precipitation tonight. North strong gale or storm (15-23 m/s) and heavy snow with greatly diminished visibility in the north tonight and tomorrow. By noon tomorrow, wind increases by the south coast, en route from Reykjavik to Jokulsarlon. Wind gusts exceeding 40 m/s can be expected in that area. Travelers are urged to pay attention to the weather forecast and road conditions and make sure not to traverse the country on cars ill prepared for winter travels.

With high tide this  morning, sea level and wave height is ecpected to be unusually high by the north coast.
