Red weather warnings will be in effect until noon Friday in the Reykjavik area, around Faxaflói, Suðurnes, South and South-East Iceland with gale force wind. The rescue teams from ICE-SAR (Landsbjörg) have been assisting people in these areas from early hours this morning. Power outages have been in areas in the south around Eyjafjöll, Vik, Mýrdalur, Biskupstungur and in the west in Hvalfjörður and Húsafell
Extensive road closures are in effect from the capital area.
