Tilkynning frá almannavarnadeild ríkislögreglustjóra og lögreglustjóranum á Austurlandi:
· Áfram óvissustig á Austurlandi vegna skriðuhættu.
· Áfram hættustig á Seyðisfirði og rýmingar að hluta í gildi vegna skriðuhættu.
Almannavarnadeild ríkislögreglustjóra og lögreglustjórinn á Austurlandi funduðu með ofanflóðasérfræðingum Veðurstofu Íslands, aðgerðarstjórn og vettvangsstjórn nú fyrir hádegi. Auk þess sátu fundinn fulltrúar frá viðbragðsaðilum, sveitarfélagi og stofnunum.
Ofanflóðasérfræðingar Veðurstofu Íslands ásamt samstarfsfélögum hafa nú metið þau gögn sem safnað hefur verið síðustu daga. Þau gefa til kynna að ástandið á skriðusvæðinu fari ört batnandi, vatnsþrýstingur í upptökum skriðanna hefur lækkað og lítil hreyfing mælist. Veðurspá í dag og á morgun er hagstæð, en á aðfangadag og jóladag mun hlýna mikið og getur þá stöðugleikinn raskast.
Vegna þessa er mælt með því að rýmingu á ákveðnum svæðum verði haldið í það minnsta fram á 27. desember. (Rautt svæði á meðfylgjandi korti). Aðgerðarstjórn á Austurlandi er í sambandi við íbúa á þeim svæðum sem rýmd verða áfram og aðstoða þá við að finna sér íverustaði þar til þeir geta snúið aftur heim. 
Eigendum húsa innan rýmingarsvæðisins við Búðará og íbúum verður gefinn kostur á að sækja nauðsynjar í hús sín líkt og í gær. Mælst er til þess að ferðum verði stillt í hóf og þeir sem þess óska geta gefið sig fram í Ferjuleiru á Seyðisfirði.
Enn er verið að meta hættur á skriðuföllum neðan Múlavegar (Gult svæði á meðfylgjandi korti) og hvort rýmingu verður aflétt á því svæði fyrir jól. Niðurstöðu er að vænta eftir 20:00 í kvöld.
Unnið verður að hreinsun á þeim svæðum þar sem það er talið öruggt með það að markmiði að lágmarka tjón sem kann að verða ef brak og aðrir lausamunir fara að fjúka til. Varðskipið Týr mun aðstoða við það í dag og þyrla LHG verður til taks á morgun.
Fjöldahjálparstöð RKÍ og þjónustumiðstöð almannavarna eru staðsettar í Herðubreið og verða opnar í dag og á morgun.
Hættustig almannavarna er enn í gildi.

ï Continued level of danger in Seyðisfjörður and partial evacuations are set to continue due to a continued risk of mud flow.
The Civil Protection Department of the National Commissioner of Police and the Chief of Police in East Iceland met with flood experts from the Icelandic Meteorological Office, the operations committee and the site management team this morning. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the response team, the municipality and other institutions.
The Icelandic Meteorological Office’s flood experts and their associates have now evaluated the data collected over the past few days. The data indicates that the situation in the mudflow area is improving rapidly, the water pressure at the source of the mudflow has decreased and minimal movement has been detected. The weather forecast today and tomorrow is favorable, but on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day the Meteorological Office has forecast warming weather and this can disrupt the current stability.
For the above reason, stakeholders and experts have concluded that emergency evacuations in certain zones be continued at least until December 27. (Red zone on the attached map). The operations committee in East Iceland is maintaining contact with residents in the affected zones and will continue to help them find places to stay until those people are able to return home.
Homeowners within the evacuation zone by Búðará and residents will be given the opportunity to return to their houses to retrieve necessities, same as yesterday. It is recommended that traveling be kept to a minimum. Those who wish to travel can report to Ferjuleira in Seyðisfjörður.
The risk of mudflow below Múlavegur (the yellow zone on the attached map) and whether the emergency evacuation procedures will be lifted in that area before Christmas is still under assessment. The conclusion of that assessment is expected to be ready after 20:00 tonight.
Efforts will be made to clean up safe zones with the aim of minimizing damage that may occur if debris and other loose objects start getting blown around. The patrol ship Týr will assist with those operations today and a helicopter from the Icelandic Coast Guard will be made available tomorrow.
The Red Cross Emergency Aid Center and the Civil Protection Service Center are located in Herðubreið and will be open today and tomorrow.
The Civil Protection Crisis Level is still in effect.
Evacuations in effect until December 27 2020, revised at that date.

• Utrzymujący się poziom zagrożenia ze względu na ryzyko osuwisk we wschodniej Islandii.
• Utrzymujący się poziom zagrożenia w Seyðisfjörður i częściowe ewakuacje ze względu na niebezpieczeństwo osunięcia ziemi.
Departament Ochrony Ludności Krajowego Komisarza Policji i Komendanta Policji Wschodniej Islandii spotkał się dziś po południu z ekspertami ds. Powodzi Islandzkiego Urzędu Meteorologicznego, komitetem operacyjnym i zarządem terenu. Ponadto w spotkaniu uczestniczyli przedstawiciele służb kryzysowych, gminy i instytucji.
Eksperci i partnerzy ds. Powodzi z Islandzkiego Urzędu Meteorologicznego ocenili dane zebrane w ostatnich dniach. Wskazują one, że sytuacja w rejonie osuwisk szybko się poprawia, ciśnienie wody u źródła osuwisk spadło i mierzona jest niewielka aktywność. Prognoza pogody dziś i jutro jest korzystna, ale w Wigilię i Boże Narodzenie bardzo się ociepli i wtedy stabilność może zostać zachwiana.
Z tego powodu zaleca się przeprowadzenie ewakuacji w niektórych rejonach co najmniej do 27 grudnia. (Czerwony obszar na załączonej mapie). Komitet Kryzysowy we wschodniej Islandii jest w kontakcie z mieszkańcami obszarów, które zostaną ewakuowane i pomoże im znaleźć miejsce do zamieszkania do czasu powrotu do domu.
Właściciele domów w obszarze ewakuacji przy rzece Búðará i inni mieszkańcy będą mieli możliwość odebrania artykułów pierwszej potrzeby w swoich domach, tak jak wczoraj. Zaleca się, aby ruch odbywał się z umiarem, a chętne osoby, mogą zgłosić się do Ferjuleira w Seyðisfjörður.
Ryzyko osunięcia ziemi poniżej Múlavegur (żółty obszar na załączonej mapie) i czy ewakuacja zostanie zniesiona na tym obszarze przed świętami Bożego Narodzenia jest nadal przedmiotem oceny. Wynik jest spodziewany po godzinie 20:00.
Podjęte zostaną wysiłki, aby oczyścić te obszary, w których będzie to bezpieczne, w celu zminimalizowania szkód, które mogą wystąpić, z powodu ryzyka opadania gruzu i inne luźnych części. Patrolowiec Týr pomoże w tym dzisiaj, a śmigłowiec LHG będzie dostępny jutro.
